Chad Hymas
Chief Executive Officer
As Aula Energy's founding CEO, Chad leads the company's strategy, growth and performance as an integrated owner, operator and developer of renewable energy assets. Since the company's establishment in 2023, he has led the financial close of two major wind projects, the acquisition and integration of operating solar assets, and the continued expansion of Aula's development portfolio, positioning the company as a rapidly growing independent power producer supporting Australia's energy transition.
Chad brings more than 25 years experience across Australia's energy sector spanning strategy, growth, regulation, operations and finance. His experience combines commercial leadership, infrastructure development, stakeholder engagement and long-term asset ownership, enabling the disciplined growth of renewable energy businesses.
Prior to joining Aula Energy, Chad held executive leadership roles at AusNet with responsibility for strategic market and business development, innovation, advocacy, government relations and development policy, helping shape the future of Australia's energy infrastructure.

Evonne Bennett
Chief Operations Officer
Evonne leads Aula Energy's project delivery, asset management, operations, technical and health & safety functions, ensuring the disciplined delivery, safe operation and long-term performance of the company's renewable energy portfolio.
Evonne is an energy and infrastructure executive with more than 20 years experience delivering complex projects and operating critical infrastructure across renewable energy, electricity markets and broader infrastructure sectors.
Since joining Aula Energy, she has established the governance, delivery and operational frameworks required to progress projects through final investment decision, construction, commissioning and into long-term operations, supporting Aula's evolution into an integrated owner-operator with infrastructure-grade execution capability.
Prior to joining Aula Energy, Evonne held senior leadership roles with Windlab, Squadron Energy and Transgrid.

Andrew Hyland
Chief Customer & Markets Officer
Andrew leads Aula Energy's project development, energy markets, trading and customer functions, helping maximise long-term portfolio value through disciplined project origination, commercialisation and market participation from development through operations.
Andrew has more than 20 years experience across Australia's renewable energy sector spanning project development, asset operations, commercial strategy, business development and electricity markets. His experience combines customer, market and operational perspectives to support value creation across the full asset lifecycle.
He has established the commercial, customer, trading and market participation frameworks that support successful investment decisions, optimise operating assets and strengthen Aula Energy's transition to integrated asset ownership.
Prior to joining Aula Energy, Andrew led ENGIE's ANZ business and previously held a range of senior commercial roles with Pacific Hydro.

Eliza Bartlett
General Counsel & Company Secretary
Eliza leads Aula Energy's legal, governance, risk and compliance functions, providing the framework that supports disciplined decision-making, project delivery and long-term asset ownership across the renewable energy portfolio.
She brings more than 18 years experience advising on complex energy, infrastructure and major projects, with expertise spanning commercial contracting, project development, corporate governance, regulatory compliance and enterprise risk management.
At Aula Energy, Eliza has established the governance, compliance and legal frameworks supporting project development, construction, acquisitions and operations, helping ensure the business maintains the contractual, regulatory and governance discipline expected of a sophisticated independent power producer.
Prior to joining, Eliza held senior legal roles at EnergyAustralia and MinterEllison, bringing extensive experience advising organisations across the energy and infrastructure sectors in Australia and internationally.

Jessica Johnston
Chief People Officer
Jessica leads Aula Energy's people, corporate affairs, and facilities functions, supporting the organisational capability, leadership, culture, stakeholder engagement and workplace environment required to deliver long-term business performance as an integrated owner, operator and developer of renewable energy assets.
She brings more than 18 years experience spanning human resources, organisational transformation, mergers and acquisitions, governance and executive advisory across organisations throughout APAC, EMEA and North America.
Jessica has led the development of Aula Energy’s people strategy, organisational design, capability, workplace and corporate profile helping build the organisational maturity, performance culture and operating foundations needed to support the company’s growth and long-term success.
Prior to joining, she held senior consulting and in-house leadership roles, advising organisations through growth, transformation and change across multiple industries and geographies.

Tony Thomas
Chief Financial Officer
Tony leads Aula Energy's corporate strategy, capital strategy, project finance, corporate finance, technology, and procurement & contracts functions, supporting the disciplined allocation of capital and long-term value creation across the company's renewable energy portfolio.
Tony brings more than 20 years finance and executive leadership experience across the development, financing, construction and operation of infrastructure assets, including renewable energy.
He has built a strong track record in capital allocation, financial stewardship and disciplined investment, supporting assets from early-stage development through construction and into long-term operations.
Prior to joining Aula Energy in 2026, Tony served as CFO at a renewable energy developer, where he led finance, tax, capital strategy and governance as the business expanded from a development platform to long-term asset ownership. Earlier in his career, he spent 17 years with KPMG advising major listed and multinational energy and infrastructure organisations.

Phillip Strachan
Chair
Phillip is a senior executive with deep financial, governance and operational expertise gained from 35 years working at Rio Tinto and more recently eight years as a non-executive director.
His roles at Rio Tinto included CEO of Rio Tinto’s bauxite and alumina global mining and refining operations and CFO of Rio Tinto Alcan. His directorship experience includes Tilt Renewables, Urban Utilities, Australian Aluminium Council, Queensland Rail, and the Great Barrier Reef Foundation.
Phillip is the founding Chair of Aula Energy.

Elizabeth O'Leary
Director
Elizabeth is Global Chair of Agriculture and Natural Assets for Macquarie Asset Management (MAM). Under her leadership, MAM Agriculture and Natural Assets has become one of Australia’s largest diversified agriculture portfolios. The platform has invested heavily in the development of methods of measuring, reducing, and removing greenhouse gas emissions across its existing operations while expanding MAM’s investment strategies into natural climate solutions to increase carbon storage in landscapes and wetlands.
She has 20 years of experience in several senior corporate positions across Macquarie.
Elizabeth is a board member of the Australian Renewable Energy Agency, a member of the Nature Finance Council and was a founding member of the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures.
She contributes to several not-for-profit initiatives and is currently a Director of the Australian Climate and Biodiversity Foundation.
Elizabeth has a Bachelor of Arts from the Australian National University.

Jackie Funder
Director
Jackie has more than 11 years finance and investment experience.
She is a Managing Director with Macquarie Asset Management Green Investments (MAM GI) Australia and New Zealand team and oversees MAM GI’s operations and the development and growth of its investment portfolio in the region.
Jackie has been involved in the energy sector throughout her career, and has worked on Macquarie transactions across the USA, Australia and Asia and has completed over 10GWs of renewable energy generation assets.

Ed McManus
Director
Ed is a senior executive with more than 20 years of leadership experience across energy, technology, logistics, and life sciences, currently serving as Senior Operating Partner at The Riverside Company, a global private equity firm.
Ed brings deep and directly relevant experience to the Aula Energy board from his tenure as CEO of Meridian Energy Australia, where he led the transformation of a sub-scale renewable energy generator and retailer into a fully integrated scale generator-retailer. This experience spanned retail operations in a complex regulatory environment, wind farm commercial management, hydro asset acquisition and operations, integrated NEM trading strategy, and stakeholder engagement.
